The Fowler Museum at UCLA explores art and culture from Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and the Americas, past and present.
The Fowler Museum at UCLA will honor its 50th anniversary this fall with a suite of nine special exhibitions that highlight the Fowler’s large and acclaimed permanent collections of global arts. Also on display will be responses to the famed Fowler collection by acclaimed contemporary artist Amalia Mesa-Bains, Shelia Hicks, Jim Bassler, and Simone Leigh.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
