Located downstream of the immense Fort Peck Dam overlooking the Missouri River, the center opened in 2005. A partnership between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Fort Peck Paleontology Inc., the facility showcases northeastern Montana.

Exhibits

Montana's largest aquariums display the fish of the Lake and River. Other displays include; area wildlife, paleontology displays including the T.rex known as Peck's Rex, and the construction of Fort Peck Dam. Brand new exhibits include a children's discovery area.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
