The Forney Transportation Museum is a one-of-a-kind collection of over 500 exhibits relating to historical transportation. It began with antique cars, but soon expanded to include vehicles of all kinds. Some of these are familiar, while others spark the imagination.

Exhibits

The Museum features: Big Boy The World's Largest Steam Locomotive, The Forney Locomotive, Railcars, Cabooses, Amelia Earhart's 1923 Kissel Speedster, Antique Automobiles, Buggies, Carriages, Wagons, Aircraft,Steam Tractors, Motorcycles, Bicycles. Plus a featured exhibit: The History of the Camaro, From Aug. 1st to Oct. 31st, 2013. (Featured exhibits subject to change.)




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
