The EarlyWorks Children’s Museum is the South’s largest hands-on history museum. Hear folktales from the Talking Tree or play a tune on the giant-sized instruments at the Alabama bandstand. Pre-schoolers will enjoy exploring Biscuit’s Backyard, a touch-and-learn area designed especially for them.

Exhibits

New on exhibit is the "Interdependence" tree, which focuses on recycled materials and teamwork. Both were needed to create this 31 ft. art tree made of rebar, fiber, paper and fabric.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
