The Connecticut Historical Society is a non-profit museum, library, and education center with the mission to inspire a life-long interest in history. Established in 1825, CHS is one of the oldest historical societies in the nation and houses one of the most distinguished collections in New England.
Museums and cultural venues participate in Museum Day voluntarily. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for individual museum content or participation.
