CMA celebrates the visual and performing artist in every child through teaching, collecting, creating, and exhibiting children's art. CMA provides open studio hours for families to come spend the day together while working on projects with professional teaching artists.
For over twenty years Tape Art has traveled across America collaborating on large murals made entirely of tape. The exhibition Tape Art: Let’s Draw Together! will transform CMA’s gallery into a canvas for new creations by the Tape Artists in collaboration with CMA’s young artist community.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
