Through publications, exhibits, and educational programming the Chemung Valley History tells the stories of Chemung County, New York. In addition, the Society relates the history of the people, places, and events of the region within the context of state and national history.

Exhibits

- Made in Chemung County (chronicles the large and small scale manfacturing in the area)
- A Community Album (history of Chemung County from the 1700s to roughly 1972)
- Faces of Chemung Counyt (photographs)
- From Steamboat Captain to Winery Host: Summer Work in the Finger Lakes




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
