The Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County is housed in Indiana’s first Carnegie Library. Fully renovated in 2007, this interactive and interdisciplinary Museum features six galleries with various themes and a rotating exhibition schedule.

Exhibits

Current exhibitions include Agriculture: The Cultivation of Montgomery County, and three other themed exhibits dedicated to telling the story of Montgomery County, Indiana and the people who have called it home.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
