The Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County is housed in Indiana’s first Carnegie Library. Fully renovated in 2007, this interactive and interdisciplinary Museum features six galleries with various themes and a rotating exhibition schedule.
Current exhibitions include The Home Court of Hoosier Hysteria: Montgomery County Basketball which tells the story of the beginnings of basketball in Indiana and features some more modern icons of Hoosier Hysteria.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
