The Cameron Art Museum is a cultural gathering place where art, nature and history converge. The Museum’s educational mission is fulfilled through exhibitions, public programs and educational opportunities demonstrating the importance of the arts in giving expression and meaning to our lives.
State of the Art/Art of the State: Artists currently living in, or native to, the state of North Carolina are invited to bring a single work of contemporary art to be installed at museum, delivering work within 24hr period in early May. Featuring international guest curators! On view until October 30, 2011.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
