Located in original Railroad Station built in 1874; 4 rooms filled with historic nostalgia from the town.
The exhibits include a sailing vessel model, as was built at one of six local shipyards; photos of businesses & residents; a display of Admiral Peary's memorabilia of his North Pole expedition, including the tooth of a narwhal; and many more artifacts.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
