Once the corporate headquarters of the Copper Queen Mining Company, this Smithsonian Affiliate is at the center of town’s historic district and at the heart of its history - recording, reflecting, and retelling Bisbee’s storied past in a setting of fun and interactive exhibits.

Exhibits

“Digging In” tells the story of copper… from a uniquely Bisbee perspective. Smithsonian designed, it introduces us to the copper miners and their work.

“Urban Outpost on the Frontier” tells of Bisbee’s growth into one of the West’s preeminent, and one of its wealthiest, mining towns.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
