Birch Aquarium at Scripps is the public exploration center for world-renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography. Perched on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the aquarium features more than 60 habitats of fishes and invertebrates and an interactive museum showcasing research discoveries by Scripps scientists.

Exhibits

Explore dazzling coral reefs, thrilling sharks, amazing seahorses, undulating jellyfish and three outdoor, living tide pools. Enjoy feeding shows, including our two-story kelp forest tank show where you can talk directly with a diver underwater. Discover the science behind climate change in our interactive museum.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
