The 306-foot Bennington Battle Monument commemorates the 1777 battle fought to defend a vital supply of military stores needed by British General Johnny Burgoyne. Views of three states can be seen from the observation, serviced by elevator.

Exhibits

An exhibit in the base of the Monument tells the story of the Revolutionary War Battle of Bennington and the construction of the battle monument which is the tallest structure in Vermont.




Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis.
