Permanent collection of equipment and other artifacts, chronicling Baltimore's street railway history from 1859 to 1963. Rides on restored Baltimore streetcars are available, as are displays, tours, an interpretive video on the streetcar era, and the museum store. Open Sundays year-round and weekends June through October, noon to 5 p.m.
Photo exhibits include "Baltimore Neighborhoods: You Got There by Streetcar," a montage of streetcar scenes throughout Baltimore taken during the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
