Collects, interpret, safeguard and display significant items from Bainbridge Island's colorful past: fosters a knowledge of local history through educational programs; support historical preservation on Bainbridge Island; and operate the 1908 schoolhouse Museum and research library.
The semi-permanent exhibit is "An Island Story"; a journey through the history of Bainbridge Island. The exhibit features artifacts, picture frames showing some of our over five thousand photos, DVD movies of people and places and brief oral histories.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
