Dedicated to preserving the memorabilia of athletes who have brought honor to the State of Alabama and to themselves.

Exhibits

33,000 square feet of Museum space located in one of the best Sports Halls of Fame in the country. See two Heisman trophies, the boxing robe of Joe Louis, memorabilia from the MVPs of Super Bowls I, II and III. Visit the case of the first African American female to win a Gold Medal in the Olympic Games and the first African American to win a Gold Medal in the Winter Olympics.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
