Exhibits

The exhibition currently on display at the Okalee branch of the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum is entitled, Unconquered Imagination: Native Art and Resistance. It is an exhibition of contemporary Native American art that brings together the innovative work of six Native American artists: Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, Neal Ambrose Smith, Larry McNeil, America Meredith, Erica Lord and Will Wilson. These artists come from diverse backgrounds and engage in very different artistic practices, but are linked through a commitment to the expression of Native American representational sovereignty. Wil Wilson is the guest curator for this exhibit.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
