Located on the Post's Parade Ground, surrounded by Officers' Quarters and many original Post buildings (1905), you'll see the history of the 6th Cavalry (1861-present) come alive with authentic uniforms, weapons, accrouments, photographs, military documents, maps, Cobra Helicopter, M-47 Patton tank and a WWII Willys Jeep.
Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.
