The Peoria falcon, a beautifully crafted sheet of copper in the stylized shape of a falcon, is currently on view in Peoria, Illinois, and sent from the department of anthropology at the National Museum of Natural History. The falcon is from the Mississippian period and was excavated near Peoria in the 19th century.
