Albert DeSalvo, who claimed to be the “Boston Strangler,” is sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of assault and armed robbery against four women in Connecticut. He told authorities that he also strangled 13 single women in the Boston area between 1962 and 1964. However, law enforcement authorities would never find enough evidence to substantiate DeSalvo’s confession. In 1973 he would be stabbed to death in his prison cell.
