The Greatest of All Time
Heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali is born in Louisville, Ky. Ali would become the first fighter to win the world heavyweight championship on three separate occasions. The boxer, who famously dubbed himself “the greatest of all time,” would defend this title 19 times.
