The article could have done with a few photographs of the writing slope to capture the full importance of the piece... Peter.

I've been looking for measured drawings of Thomas Jefferson's lap desk and wondered if there is anything like this in the Smithsonian that I could get. I'm sure they would not like me to come and take measurements to try to build a copy. Anything like this?
