    Parakan is where the model for children's first drawing lesson. Two big mountains (Mt. Sumbing and Sindoro) loom majestically over a straight street, our main street, lined with rows of houses, trees and electrical poles. This view is always there every time I went out of my house. It took several years, until high school, in fact, for me to realize that this situation is far from 'normal'. Not every child has a perfect model like this.
