Shari Werb

Shari Werb is the Director for Education and Outreach at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History. Working with the museum's “behind-the-scenes” resources, Werb fosters a growing public engagement with Smithsonian scientists and with the specimens and artifacts used in their research.

Smithsonian geologist Elizabeth Cottrell (right) helps undergraduate intern Kellie Wall examine a sample of Earth’s interior. Cottrell co-directs Natural History Research Experiences, a program funded by the National Science Foundation that trains 18 students every summer.
